Tech Sandbox Ages 13-17

Every Tuesday 12:30PM-2:00PM in the Technology, Training, and Innovation Lab

Tech Sandbox is a club where teens get hands-on experience with the library’s technology collection. Each meeting will focus on a different piece of equipment, with time for experimentation as well as instruction. Topics will include 3D printing, virtual reality, music production, Adobe Creative Cloud, and more.

June 13: Spheros, Dash, & Evo: Learn how to code pathways with Sphero! Build your own mazes, obstacles, towers and other courses to navigate through your room. 

June 20 & 27: Scratch: Get an introduction to computer coding concepts with MIT’s Scratch. Learn about user interface and user experience design while putting together a playable video game. 

July 11: Circuitry Kits – Explore how small electronic components can be organized and programmed to complete tasks using text-based commands. 

July 18 & 25: Game Design with Roblox Studio – Join us as we design our own Roblox game. Learn about 3D environment design and digital assets, then get to know the Lua programming language as we work toward game functionality, development and deployment.
